| Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 ( HIV – 1 ) is an enveloped retrovirus approximately 120 nm in diameter , which contains two copies of a single – stranded , positive – sense RNA . HIV – 1 (Strain : NIB ) is propagated in the Hut78 T cellline. Heat inactivated culture fluids are sold in 1.0 mL aliquots , and shipped on dry ice. Each lot of viral culture fluid is assayed for its Tissue Culture Infective Dose ( TCID 50 ) before being heat inactivated. Custom orders are available, including specific volumes and package sizes. Heat inactivated viral culture fluids are sold as consumable testing materials. The suitability and performance characteristics should be determined by your laboratory for each intended usage.
