| NATtrol Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (NATHSV1-0001, NATHSV1-0002, NATHSV1-0003, NATHSV1-0004, and NATHSV1-0005) is formulated with purified, intact virus particles that have been chemically modified to render them non-infectious and refrigerator stable. Each vial contains 1.0 mL of HSV-1 NATtrol at target concentrations listed in Table 1. These controls are supplied in a purified protein matrix that mimics the composition of a true clinical specimen. NATtrol Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 is designed to evaluate the performance of nucleic acid tests for determination of the presence of HSV1 DNA. NATHSV1 can also be used for validation of clinical assays, development of diagnostic tests and training of laboratory personnel.
